The integration will connect Foundation Software's construction accounting read-only to BauGPT Pro's chat, so your team can look up jobs, vendors, cost codes and GL accounts directly in chat.

Access won't be self-service: Foundation only issues API credentials after a support ticket in the FOUNDATION client portal, handled manually by the Foundation team — there is no public developer portal for self-registration. Once connected, the BauGPT assistant will read live from your FOUNDATION system: it will be able to search jobs with their status and contract value, look up vendors with their contact details, list cost codes and query the general ledger chart of accounts. What FOUNDATION's public API does not expose for reading, the integration won't do either: individual AP invoices and GL journal entries cannot be retrieved through the API, and purchase orders do not appear in it at all. The connection will be read-only — BauGPT will never change or write data in FOUNDATION. Important: FOUNDATION's API is currently still in beta, and FOUNDATION doesn't offer a public trial environment — the integration will require an existing FOUNDATION deployment for your company.

You'll be able to ask the assistant about a job — it searches your FOUNDATION jobs by number or description and shows status and contract data.
Look up vendors
FOUNDATION vendors will be findable in chat with their name, contact and address.
Cost codes at a glance
BauGPT will be able to retrieve the cost codes your job costs are broken down by.
Query the chart of accounts
The general ledger chart of accounts will be searchable by account number or description — FOUNDATION's API doesn't expose individual journal entries for reading.
How to set it up

Join the waitlist to be notified as soon as the integration is available.

Once available, you'll open a support ticket in the FOUNDATION client portal (clients.foundationsoft.com): "Log A Support Call" → type "Integrations" → category "API Access", and request an API subscription key plus your FOUNDATION API server's base URL.

In BauGPT Pro, you'll enter the subscription key and base URL under Settings → Integrations → Connect FOUNDATION.

FAQ
- When is the FOUNDATION integration coming?
- It's planned, but has prerequisites outside our control: Foundation only issues API credentials after a manually handled support ticket, there is no self-registration, and FOUNDATION's API is still in beta. Join the waitlist to be notified.
- Will I be able to query AP invoices and purchase orders from FOUNDATION?
- No — and that's down to FOUNDATION's API rather than BauGPT: the public API can only create AP invoices, not read them, GL journal entries aren't exposed as retrievable data at all, and purchase orders don't appear in the API in any form. The integration will therefore cover jobs, vendors, cost codes and the chart of accounts.
- Can I self-register for the FOUNDATION integration?
- No. New FOUNDATION API access is granted only after a support ticket in the FOUNDATION client portal and manual handling by the Foundation team.
- Can I try the FOUNDATION integration without my own FOUNDATION system?
- No. FOUNDATION doesn't offer a public trial environment — the integration will require an existing FOUNDATION deployment for your company.
- Will BauGPT be able to change data in FOUNDATION?
- No. The integration will be read-only — BauGPT will retrieve data from FOUNDATION but never write or change anything there.
- Is the FOUNDATION API stable?
- FOUNDATION's API is currently marked as beta. Changes are possible; we'll adapt the integration as needed.
