The integration will connect your DATEV account through the regular DATEV sign-in (OpenID Connect) — BauGPT will only ever get read access and will never be able to create, change, or upload anything in DATEV. In chat, your team will be able to look up the Mandanten (clients of your tax firm or company in DATEV Unternehmen online) and the document-type categories stored per Mandant. The connection will start in DATEV sandbox mode: production DATEV access will additionally require approval from DATEV's Ecosystem Consulting team plus a paid onboarding call — you'll be notified once full production access is activated for your account.

The connection will initially use DATEV's sandbox environment with test data; full production access will be activated once DATEV approves it.

Once available, you'll open Settings → Integrations in BauGPT Pro and choose "Connect DATEV" — you'll be redirected to DATEV's sign-in and confirm read-only access to your account there.

FAQ
- What data will BauGPT be able to read from DATEV?
- Mandanten (clients of your tax firm or company) and the document-type categories stored per Mandant — read-only. Belege themselves (invoices, bookings) will not be retrievable through this integration.
- Why won't invoices or bookings be shown?
- DATEV's invoice-data and booking-data services are designed for sending data into DATEV (e.g. from a construction ERP), not for reading it back out. BauGPT will therefore only be able to read Mandanten and document-type data.
- Will BauGPT be able to create or change data in DATEV?
- No. BauGPT will only ever read data from DATEV — the integration is built to make read-only (GET) requests and will never create, change, or upload anything in DATEV.
- Will the integration be usable in production from the start?
- The connection will start in DATEV sandbox mode with test data. Production access with DATEV additionally requires approval from DATEV's Ecosystem Consulting team plus a paid onboarding — you'll be notified once full access is active for your account.
- Is there anything to consider about confidentiality when connecting?
- If DATEV data belonging to your tax firm or its clients becomes visible, additional confidentiality and data-protection obligations may apply (including German §203 StGB and GDPR Art. 28). Only connect DATEV if you are authorized to do so.
