CMiC

The CMiC integration will connect CMiC's construction ERP read-only to BauGPT Pro's AI assistant, so you can look up jobs, project communications and change items directly in chat.

CMiC is a single-database construction ERP for large general contractors and specialty contractors, primarily in the US and Canada. Once the integration launches, the BauGPT assistant will read live from your CMiC system: list and search jobs (Job Costing), look up project communications such as RFI- and submittal-type items, and retrieve Potential Change Items (PCI) on a job. The connection is planned as read-only; BauGPT will never change or write data in CMiC. Important: CMiC does not offer a public trial environment — the integration will require an existing CMiC deployment for your company.

What this integration does

  • Find jobs in chat

You will be able to ask the assistant about a job, and it will search your CMiC job list directly.

  • Look up project communications

A job's RFI- and submittal-type communications will be queryable and summarizable in chat.

  • Change items at a glance

BauGPT will be able to retrieve a job's Potential Change Items (PCI), including status.

  • Your own service account per person

You will connect your own personal CMiC API service account — your CMiC administrator sets it up themselves in a few minutes.

How to set it up

  1. 1

Join the waitlist to be notified as soon as the integration is available.

  2. 2

Already now, ask your CMiC administrator to create an API service account in your CMiC system (username in the format "CLIENT ID||USER ID", e.g. "SOLUTIONS||JSMITH", plus a password).

  3. 3

Once available, you'll open Settings → Integrations in BauGPT Pro and enter the username, password and your CMiC API server's base URL (ATLAS or NOVA, from your CMiC administrator).

FAQ

When is the CMiC integration coming?
It's launching shortly. Join the waitlist to be notified.
Can I try the CMiC integration without my own CMiC system?
No. CMiC doesn't offer a public trial environment — the integration will require an existing CMiC deployment for your company.
What is the "CLIENT ID||USER ID" username format?
This is how CMiC identifies an API service account: your CMiC client identifier, followed by two pipe characters and the user ID, e.g. "SOLUTIONS||JSMITH". Your CMiC administrator sets both when creating the service account.
Will BauGPT be able to change data in CMiC?
No. The integration is planned as read-only — BauGPT will retrieve data from CMiC but never write or change anything there.
Why does BauGPT sign in with a username and password instead of single sign-on?
CMiC's single sign-on option (OAuth2) needs to be set up per customer against their own identity provider (e.g. Azure AD). The planned integration therefore uses CMiC's Basic Authentication with a personal API service account. CMiC is retiring this method on 2027-03-31 — we're working on an SSO connection well before that becomes relevant.
Who will be able to see my CMiC data in BauGPT?
The connection will be per-user: each person connects their own CMiC API service account, and only that person uses the connection in chat.
