(Senior) IT System Admin (m/f/d) - Datacenter Operations

We’re looking for a (Senior) IT System Administrator (m/f/d) for Datacenter Operations on behalf of our client.

Your tasks:

• Keeping the datacenter infrastructure running smoothly (Compute, Virtualization, Storage, Backup, Monitoring)
• Ensuring availability, performance, and operational security
• Handling lifecycle, patching, and maintenance tasks
• Managing requests, incidents, problems, and standard changes in the datacenter environment
• Analyzing glitches and fixing bugs for good
• Coordinating and managing external service providers
• Helping out with capacity and operational planning
• Keeping an eye on the infrastructure via monitoring & reporting
• Running performance analyses and optimization measures
• Automating repetitive operational tasks
• Creating and maintaining operational docs and runbooks
• Pitching in on infrastructure and modernization projects
• Providing technical support to other team members

What we’re looking for:

• A degree in IT, training as an IT specialist, or a similar qualification
• Several years of experience running datacenter or infrastructure environments
• Solid skills in several of the following:
  • Datacenter operations
  • VMware (vSphere, Aria Operations / vRealize)
  • Microsoft Active Directory & Entra ID
  • Backup & recovery solutions (ideally Veeam)
  • Windows Server environments
  • Automation (PowerShell)
• Experience in "Run-the-Business" IT operations
• A structured, reliable, and responsible way of working
• A high awareness of quality and security
• Analytical thinking and a solution-oriented mindset
• The ability to grasp complex technical issues quickly
• Team spirit and clear communication skills
• Very good German skills
