Your Role

Our client is a leading general contractor and civil engineering firm focused on fiber optic network expansion.

To grow their "Energy" division, they are looking for a Head of Energy Projects to lead and develop business areas like cable civil engineering (power), pipeline construction (gas, water, district heating), and sewer construction.

You’ll be responsible for landing new clients in the energy sector and building up internal capacity and skills. Your tasks include:

• Leading and growing the Energy Projects division.
• Winning new projects in gas, water, district heating, and power networks, while managing the business side (calculations, quotes, controlling).
• Expanding into new fields like charging infrastructure, e-mobility, or wind farm connections.
• Running energy projects independently—working closely with site managers, in-house construction/assembly teams, and external subcontractors.
• Making sure safety rules, legal requirements, and quality standards are met.
• Specifically developing internal skills and capacity within the energy sector.
• Representing the company at a high professional level to clients, partners, and authorities.

Your Skills

• You have a degree in Civil Engineering or Utility Engineering—or a similar engineering degree with relevant experience.
• You have several years of leadership experience in pipeline, sewer, or cable civil engineering.
• You have deep technical knowledge of pipeline systems, welding tech, electrical assembly, and the relevant industry standards.
• You’re experienced in cost calculation, creating quotes, and managing the financial side of construction projects.
• You know how to handle subcontractors and have strong communication and negotiation skills.
• You work in a structured, independent, and solution-oriented way with a "get things done" attitude.
• You’re tech-savvy with digital tools, especially for managing and documenting project data.
• You speak fluent German, have good English skills, and hold a Class B driver’s license.
