Head of Purchasing (f/m/d) Civil Engineering, Berlin/North Region

On behalf of our client, we’re looking for a Head of Purchasing (m/f/d) for Civil Engineering in the Berlin/North region.

• Your Tasks
  • You’ll take charge of the purchasing process in civil engineering and make sure all defined processes and standards are followed.
  • You’ll manage both strategic and operational purchasing for subcontractor services, supplies, and services for civil engineering projects in your region.
  • You’ll prep awards in a structured way and lead contract negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • You’ll lead your purchasing team (both professionally and disciplinarily), set priorities, manage goals, and help your team grow.
  • You’ll work closely with site management, estimation, and project management to create a solid basis for decisions and ensure reliable project execution.
  • You’ll further develop purchasing strategies, framework agreements, and standards, using KPIs and reporting to keep things on track.
• What You Bring to the Table
  • A completed commercial or technical apprenticeship (e.g., industrial clerk), business/construction specialist, or a degree in civil engineering, industrial engineering, business admin, or something similar.
  • Several years of experience in purchasing, ideally in civil engineering or infrastructure, in a leadership role.
  • Experience in leading teams (both professionally and disciplinarily) and managing them based on clear goals, budgets, and priorities.
  • A great understanding of construction services, procurement, and contract processes, plus a solid handle on the basics (VOB, HOAI, BGB).
  • Excellent German skills, both written and spoken.
