Service Technician (m/f/d) for Intrusion Detection Systems

We’re looking for a Service Technician (m/f/d) for Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) on behalf of our client.

A leading construction company is looking to beef up its team in the Hamburg Barsbüttel area with an experienced Service Technician (m/f/d) for Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). As part of the team, you’ll work on exciting projects using the latest tech, helping people and businesses stay safe. Your Role

As a Service Tech for IDS, you’ll be the go-to person for installing, maintaining, and repairing modern alarm systems. You’ll work independently on projects, make sure everything is running smoothly, and be part of the on-call rotation to handle emergencies when they pop up.

Your tasks at a glance:

• Installing, programming, and commissioning intrusion detection systems (IDS)
• Optional work on fire alarm systems (FAS) depending on your experience
• Maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting of existing systems, including full documentation
• Creating and maintaining technical docs like wiring plans and site sketches
• Running measurements and tests according to current regulations and standards
• Chatting with customers and providing on-site or remote training/briefings
• Collecting customer info and working closely with project management on billing
• Taking part in the on-call service

What You Bring to the Table

• A completed vocational degree in electrical engineering, IT/telecommunications, or similar (e.g., Electronics Technician for Energy and Building Technology, Systems Electronics Technician, or IT Specialist for System Integration)
• Several years of experience in IDS installation, service, and maintenance
• Knowledge of relevant standards: DIN VDE, DIN EN 50131, VdS guidelines, plus basic knowledge of EN 54 and DIN 14675
• Experience with fire alarm systems (FAS) is a plus
• A Class B driver’s license
• An independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working
• Great communication skills, a team player attitude, and a strong focus on the customer
• A confident, reliable, and friendly vibe
• Basic knowledge of business, IT, and computer systems
• Fluent German skills
