Your tasks at Geiger:

  • Keeping the datacenter infrastructure running smoothly (Compute, Virtualization, Storage, Backup, Monitoring)
  • Making sure everything stays available, fast, and secure
  • Handling lifecycle, patching, and maintenance stuff
  • Dealing with requests, incidents, problems, and standard changes in the datacenter environment
  • Analyzing glitches and fixing them for good
  • Coordinating and managing external service providers
  • Helping out with capacity and operational planning
  • Keeping an eye on the infrastructure through monitoring & reporting
  • Running performance checks and optimizing things
  • Automating repetitive daily tasks
  • Creating and updating documentation and runbooks
  • Pitching in on infrastructure and modernization projects
  • Giving technical support to other team members

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in IT, vocational training as an IT specialist, or something similar
  • Several years of experience running datacenter or infrastructure environments
  • Solid skills in a few of these areas:
  • Datacenter operations
  • VMware (vSphere, Aria Operations / vRealize)
  • Microsoft Active Directory & Entra ID
  • Backup & recovery solutions (idealerweise Veeam)
  • Windows Server environments
  • Automation (PowerShell)
  • Experience in day-to-day IT operations (Run-the-Business)
  • A structured, reliable, and responsible way of working
  • A strong focus on quality and security
  • Analytical thinking and a solution-oriented mindset
  • The ability to wrap your head around complex technical stuff quickly
  • A team player with clear communication skills
  • Very good German skills
