Tasks at Geiger:
- Professional and disciplinary leadership of our dispatch team and, in the future, our driving staff in the bulk material sector
- Close cooperation with the current freight forwarding manager and gradual takeover of further leadership and management tasks for the future takeover of overall responsibility as freight forwarding manager (m/f/d) as part of succession planning
- Responsibility for operational dispatch and ensuring smooth day-to-day business as well as further development of our processes
- Deployment planning for our drivers (m/f/d) taking into account cost-effectiveness, quality, and legal requirements (e.g., driving and rest times)
- Contact person for internal departments and external partners
- Management of freight purchasing and contract negotiations with freight forwarders and carriers
- Ensuring compliance with our quality, process, and sustainability standards, especially in the area of occupational safety
What we're looking for:
- Completed vocational training in the logistics/freight forwarding sector, e.g., as a merchant (m/f/d) for freight forwarding and logistics services, or alternatively a completed commercial vocational training with relevant professional experience in logistics
- Several years of professional experience in dispatch, ideally in the bulk material sector
- Initial leadership experience and the motivation to develop professionally and personally and to take on a leadership role with overall responsibility in logistics in the future
- Good knowledge of operational processes in dispatch and the legal framework
- High sense of responsibility, organizational strength, and decisiveness
- Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and a confident manner
- Entrepreneurial thinking and interest in business relationships
