Estimator / Cost Engineer (m/f/d) for Serial Housing Construction | Geiger Group

Your tasks at Geiger:

  • Strategic cost support for product development: Ongoing consulting during the development of a modular wood-hybrid construction system – focusing on manufacturing costs, design, function, and life cycle.
  • Analyzing and implementing cost optimizations: Using methods like Design-to-Cost and technical standardization to find and unlock savings and optimization potential within the building system.
  • Taking charge of project estimation: Creating cost estimates for specific construction projects using the serial system, working closely with the sales team.
  • Coordinating between departments: Acting as the bridge between planning, product development, purchasing, and sales.

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a similar technical background with relevant extra qualifications.
  • Several years of experience in estimating and/or cost engineering, ideally in serial or industrial housing construction.
  • Solid knowledge of estimation methods, especially Design-to-Cost, MEP and structural costs, as well as life cycle costs.
  • Proficiency with standard estimation and planning tools (e.g., iTWO, Excel, BIM software, AVA systems).
  • Strong analytical thinking with a high focus on cost and quality.
  • Great communication skills for working across different teams (planning, development, sales).
  • A team player who takes initiative and is solution-oriented.
  • An interest in sustainable and resource-friendly construction.
