A new Penny Market

In the southwestern district of Dahn, a new Penny Markt will be opened in September 2021, with Rocket Floor responsible for the tile installation. The city of Dahn is a state-recognized health resort and is not only home to over 4,000 residents, but also a destination for many tourists.

In the entire market, including sanitary facilities, WC, storage and bakery, over 1400 m² of the Topgres tile "Penny" in gray was laid in a vibration method, in a cross bond.

The special thing about the vibration method is that a contact slurry of cement, adhesive and quartz sand is applied to the freshly laid screed, on which the tiles are then laid and compacted using a vibrating plate. This special type of installation is faster than the conventional adhesive method, as no primer needs to be applied and the drying time of the screed is saved. Laying and jointing materials are processed wet in wet and are coordinated in such a way that they bind simultaneously and create a firm connection between the substrate and the porcelain stoneware tiles.

With the vibration method, tiles can be laid in various formats. For the Penny Markt in Dahn, a square, 45×45 cm large porcelain stoneware tile with a matte surface and a slip resistance of R10 was laid. With a thickness of 15 mm, the tiles are particularly resistant and durable, making them ideal for shopping centers. To create a uniform image, a baseboard from the same series was chosen.

On the walls of the bakery, the sanitary facilities and the cleaning supplies room, the glossy wall tile Iceland One by Topgres, in white, with a size of 30×60 cm, was chosen and laid using the adhesive method in a cross bond.
