Reusing Tegel Airport

After the last flight, it's time to lay the first foundation stone for a state-of-the-art commercial, industrial, and residential area. Tegel Projekt GmbH, on behalf of the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building, and Housing, is pushing forward with the planning of the Urban Tech Republic and the Schumacher Quarter. We've been a reliable partner since the early days of infrastructure planning back in 2012. With the transfer of the properties back to the state of Berlin in 2021, we took over the airport's existing 6 kV network and have been ensuring the area's reliable power supply ever since. The existing network facilities will continue to operate and will gradually be replaced by laying and constructing a modern, efficient power distribution network over the next two years.
