The city of Düren is making a statement for a cleaner environment and less traffic noise. With the innovative Clean Air Asphalt, or #ClAir® Asphalt for short, not only is the quality of the roads improved, but it also actively helps reduce pollutants and nitrogen oxides in the air. ClAir® Asphalt is a top layer of asphalt developed by the STRABAG Competence Center #TPA in collaboration with nine partners from science and industry, as part of the NaHiTAs research project (sustainable high-tech asphalt) and with funding from the @BMBF.

Die Stadt Düren setzt ein Zeichen für eine sauberere Umwelt und weniger Verkehrslärm. Mit dem innovativen Clean Air Asphalt, kurz #ClAir® Asphalt, wird nicht nur die Qualität der Straßen verbessert, sondern auch aktiv zur Reduzierung von Schadstoffen und Stickoxiden in der Luft beigetragen.
ClAir® Asphalt ist eine Asphaltdeckschicht, die das STRABAG-Kompetenzzentrum #TPA in Zusammenarbeit mit neun Partnern aus Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft, im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts NaHiTAs (nachhaltiger HighTech-Asphalt) und mit Fördermitteln des @BMBF, entwickelt hat.

Clean Air Asphalt Einbau in Düren

The project included canal and road construction, including the laying of utility lines. Due to the historical events in Düren in 1944, when the city was 98% destroyed, accompanying ordnance investigations and archaeological studies were necessary. Old house structures were found underground, which had to be taken into account during the work.

Das Projekt umfasste den Kanal- und Straßenbau einschließlich der Verlegung von Versorgungsleitungen. Aufgrund der historischen Ereignisse in Düren im Jahr 1944, als die Stadt zu 98 % zerstört wurde, waren begleitende Kampfmitteluntersuchungen sowie archäologische Untersuchungen erforderlich. Im Untergrund wurden alte Häuserstrukturen gefunden, die bei den Arbeiten berücksichtigt werden mussten.
