Project Description
The Schüco-Arena in Bielefeld has been serving as a football stadium for many years, hosting numerous matches of the popular football team Arminia Bielefeld. The venue in the western part of the city has been in existence since 1926 and is affectionately referred to by football fans as the "Bielefelder Alm". After the football club was promoted to the first Bundesliga in 1996, the main and north stands were rebuilt. In 1999, the construction of the south stand followed, and in 2007, the east stand was built as the new main stand. Currently, the stadium can accommodate 27,000 spectators. The renovation of the Schüco-Arena became necessary due to recurring water leaks, which led to massive water accumulations in important areas such as electrical rooms or storage areas.
