2nd Main Line Munich - VE733 Tunnel East Station
Implenia Deutschland
Project Images
Project Description
The construction lot VE733 includes the building of two traffic tunnel tubes with cross passages and an exploration and rescue tunnel (ERS) in between, as well as the rescue shafts 7 and 8 (RS7 and RS8) and the underground S-Bahn station Ostbahnhof.
The main tunnels are mostly excavated using tunnel boring machines (TBM) with active face support and segmental lining. Eight cross passages are constructed using the NATM method and protected by ground freezing measures. The deep-level Ostbahnhof and RS7 (both using diaphragm wall construction) and RS8 (bored pile wall) are built using open construction methods. The creation of the junction for the future connection of the southern branch is done by dismantling and widening the TBM tunnel sections in shotcrete construction from RS7 under compressed air.
