Project Description
24 hours, 15 men & 350 sqm of vegetation Our colleagues from HWP Substanzbau Nuremberg have once again proven themselves to be absolute professionals, especially when it comes to complicated emergencies! Slope movements and deciduous trees at risk of falling forced a closure of the Heilbrunn-Stuttgart railway line and required immediate action. From March 19, 2021, our colleagues had to clear and transport 350 sqm of vegetation in Züttlingen with a team of 15 men working in 24-hour shifts. Subsequently, together with two other contractors of DB Netz AG, slope stabilization measures were carried out. Moving 250m³ of earth, setting 150 anchor drillings for rock stabilization, and processing a large amount of shotcrete. Supported by two track-mounted special drilling carriages and other heavy equipment. What a complex operation! After this successful and intensive emergency management, the railway line could be reopened without any concerns on March 24, 2021. The remaining, smaller rock stabilization work will be carried out during the nightly train breaks between 11:00 pm and 3:45 am and will be completed shortly.
