Project Description
Repair and renovation of the historic Höllenbach Viaduct (arched bridge L = 305 m / h = approx. 50 m / built in 1938). The arched viaduct with 11 arches was converted for 3-lane use towards Dortmund and to handle the current loads of a highway bridge. The bridge got a new and reinforced concrete roadway, and the substructures made of natural stone masonry underwent extensive repairs and strengthening. The outer arches were replaced with reinforced concrete arches. Due to heritage protection regulations, the appearance of the bridge had to change as little as possible.
