The Altrhein Siphon - a unique construction. The siphon consists of a concrete pipe with an inner diameter of 3.40 m and runs for a length of 408m at a depth of around 30m under the Altrhein.

Steel structures for the guidance of media lines for district heating (DN 700 VL and DN 800 RL), steam (DN 500) gas (DN 400), drinking water (DN 200) and condensate (DN 100) were installed in the siphon. The shafts for the start and target construction pits were designed as bored pile pits with underwater concrete bases. Since the construction site is located in the floodplain of the Rhine foreland, a mobile and modular flood protection was attached to the head beams of the construction pits.

The construction pits were concreted using a sliding formwork; the gate chambers monolithically connected to the shafts were conventionally produced in in-situ concrete construction.

The measure was carried out in the form of a working group of the companies Kassecker, Diringer & Scheidel, Sax + Klee, as well as the company Sonntag.

Der Altrheindüker – ein Bauwerk der besonderen Art. Der Düker besteht aus einer Betonröhre mit einem Innendurchmesser von 3,40 m und verläuft auf einer Länge von 408m in rund 30m Tiefe unter dem Altrhein hindurch.

Im Düker wurden Stahlkonstruktionen für die Führung der Medienleitungen für Fernwärme (DN 700 VL und DN 800 RL), Dampf (DN 500) Gas (DN 400), Trinkwasser (DN 200) und Kondensat (DN 100) montiert. Die Schächte für die Start- und Zielbaugruben wurden als Bohrpfahlgruben mit Unterwasserbetonsohlen ausgebildet. Da das Baufeld im Überschwemmungsgebiet des Rheinvorlandes liegt, wurde jeweils auf den Kopfbalken der Baugruben ein mobiler und modularer Hochwasserschutz angebracht.

Die Baugruben wurden mittels einer Gleitschalung betoniert; die an die Schächte monolithisch angeschlossenen Schieberkammern wurden konventionell in Ortbetonbauweise hergestellt.

Die Maßnahme wurde in Form einer Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Firmen Kassecker, Diringer & Scheidel, Sax + Klee, sowie der Firma Sonntag abgewickelt.

Brown coal was mined a long time ago on the site of the Westfeld landfill, and later ash, overburden, and filter residues were stored there. The reclamation of the Westfeld landfill essentially pursues 2 goals: On the one hand, the sealing of the landfill so that no rainwater seeps through the deposits and any effects on the groundwater can be avoided; on the other hand, to create valuable habitats for animals and plants on the 80-hectare area.

The centerpiece in construction phase 2 was the pump sump to be built, which serves as a basin and extraction point for groundwater and seepage water. Furthermore, 230,000 tons of soil masses were delivered and introduced in the form of different layers, such as compensation layer, mineral protection layer, root barrier layer, vegetation layer. The other elements of the seal consist of geosynthetic clay liners, nonwovens, and KDB.

Auf dem Gelände der Deponie Westfeld wurde vor langer Zeit Braunkohle abgebaut und später Asche, Abraum und Filterrückstände eingelagert. Die Rekultivierung der Deponie Westfeld verfolgt im Wesentlichen 2 Ziele: Zum einen die Abdichtung der Deponie, damit kein Regenwasser durch die Ablagerungen sickert und etwaige Auswirkungen auf das Grundwasser vermieden werden können; zum anderen auf der 80-Hektar großen Fläche wertvolle Lebensräume für Tiere und Pflanzen zu schaffen.

Das Kernstück im Bauabschnitt 2 war der zu errichtende Pumpensumpf, welcher als Becken und Entnahmestelle für Grund- und Sickerwässer dient. Im Weiteren wurden 230.000 to Erdmassen geliefert und diese in Form von unterschiedlichen Schichten, wie z. B. Ausgleichsschicht, mineralische Schutzschicht, Wurzelhemmschicht, Bewuchsschicht eingebracht. Die weiteren Elemente der Abdichtung bestehen aus geosynthetischen Tondichtungsbahnen, Vliese und KDB.

The Amprion GmbH carried out the construction of a new underground 110 kV cable route to connect the existing 110 kV facility Rheinböllen of Westnetz GmbH to the newly planned substation Bacharach. The total length of the cable routes, consisting of a total of 6 cable strands, is between approximately 997 m and approximately 1,090 m. In addition, the project served Amprion as a pilot project to investigate the limits of the so-called E-Power-Pipe method. For this purpose, support lengths of approximately 680 m are driven out of sheet pile pits in a closed construction method and the cable protection pipes are laid as individual strands using the E-Power-Pipe system from Herrenknecht.

Die Amprion GmbH realisierte den Neubau einer erdverlegten 110 kV-Kabeltrasse zur Verbindung der
bestehenden 110 kV-Anlage Rheinböllen der Westnetz GmbH an die neu geplante Umspannanlage Bacharach.
Die Gesamtlänge der aus insgesamt 6 Kabelsträngen bestehenden Kabeltrassen beträgt zwischen ca. 997 m und ca. 1.090 m.
Die Maßnahme diente der Amprion darüber hinaus als Pilotprojekt zur Untersuchung der Einsatzgrenzen des sogenannten E-Power-Pipe-Verfahrens.
Dazu werden Haltungslängen von ca. 680 m in geschlossener Bauweise aus Spundwandgruben heraus aufgefahren und die Kabelschutzrohre als jeweils einzelner Strang mittels E-Power-Pipe-System der Firma Herrenknecht verlegt.
