Project Description
We started with the demolition of the concrete structure up to the top of the cooling basin. First, we placed about 1500 m³ of fill soil into the basin to protect the foundation and the supports underneath. These will be partially reused for the construction of two new cooling tower cells.
The next step was to dismantle the facade panels and the drip bundles from the concrete structure of the cells. Using a 45-ton crawler crane with a long arm, we began the dismantling, which was completed on schedule within two weeks. After demolishing the concrete structures and removing the waste, we took out the fill soil from the basin.
The remaining foundation piles, which are no longer needed for the new construction, were removed using concrete saws. This final step was completed on time and according to plan. We finished the entire project within 8 weeks.
The client is very satisfied since the work was carried out and delivered on time, safely, and without any issues on site.
